Ghost Rider Sequel Moving Forward

There was discussion back in September about a sequel to 2007’s Ghost Rider, starring Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes, and now it looks like one is finally moving forward. The folks at Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Cage will return and Columbia Pictures is currently looking for writers. Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, the ‘07 flick was directed by Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil). Cage played Johnny Blaze who, in order to save his dying father sold his soul to the devil. Years later the Devil comes to collect and forces Blaze to become Ghost Rider, a bounty hunter of rogue demons. When Cage talked about the potential film in September he mentioned the character might head to Europe – “having him go on a motorcycle tour through Europe, and he’s connected with the church”. Who knows if that’s still the plan. Despite being panned by

The Oscars attempt (emphasis on the word, “attempt”) to recognize cinemas greatest achievements each year. The Razzies, on the other hand, recognize cinema’s greatest underachievements each year.

After seeing the nominees for this year’s Razzie Awards, I’m beginning to think that the Razzie judges need to be given jobs on the Oscar selection committee. Maybe then the Oscar noms would be a little bit more spot-on.

Here are the 2008 Razzie Award nominees for your viewing displeasure.

Keira Knightley To Do Movie Not Involving Corset
23 January 2009 8:47 AM, PST |

Shocker! Keira Knightley has signed on to do another film set in modern times. The bony starlet has already shot Last Night, a romantic drama with Eva Mendes. Now, she's signed on to star in the contemporary crime drama London Boulevard opposite Colin Farrell. The movie will mark the directing debut of William Monahan, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed.

But fear not! All is still right with the world. Young Keira also has a host of period pieces on the horizon. She's set to play Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in the Jazz-age The Beautiful and the Damned; do some Shakespeare (and perhaps trade not-eating tips) with Gwyneth in King Lear; and maybe play Eliza Doolittle in a new version of My Fair Lady. Surely there's another corset or two in her future.
